Hans - The female need to be fed as much as possible till it's full of eggs. This will takes up to a week or two, and live/frozen blood worms are recommended. In the process, try showing her the male occasionally and observe her behaviour - where you can tell she's very excited by swimming 'madly' against the container wall trying to reach the male. At the same time, a few thick light/dark colored vertical strips will appear on her body. That's when you know she is ready...

Victor - Your female must be of smaller size than the male for breeding.
The male must be large enough to coil around the female for a
successful spawn.
Not to mention that if the female is larger, she can kill the male
instead

Aquaristia - It can take up to a week for a pair to spawn. It is normal for the female to be more assertive in a jar, she is safe from harm there. The male will chase the female away from the bubble nest until he thinks the nest is finished, or he is ready for her. She will continue to hide until she is ready to spawn, as well. The male could chase her for days before they spawn. When he is ready the male will wait at the nest and not chase her away when she comes. She'll approach him at a 45 degree angle with vertical stripes. You'll just have to be patient lol.
