Is it safe to pH the aquarium water with laboratory grade sodium hydroxide(NaOH)?

- Pet stores basically just bottle sodium hydroxide and do not provide any additional components to their "pH up" products. I have tried lab grade NaOH and it works great. KOH should also be acceptable. - Jan 15, 2001
