What is the best condition for fins recovery?

Snert - I don't think that all colors will show once a tail has been damaged. Adding vitamins to the water helps a lot, but sometimes the color will never return. I found that out with Charlie Brown, my orange/chocolate male. All of his fins are coming back clear. He WAS a beautiful male. :( - Nov 6, 2000

T.S. - I have seen fins recover very quickly in a tank with the temp. up to about 80-90 degrees F. I've also used AquaSafe. I have some foods that promote quick fin recovery. The problem is that only some fish eat it. They can be very picky. - May 30, 2001

Hans - After a mating session, some fins may be broken from the 'fight'. Usually, they will grow back over time, and some medications promote that process. However, it has been my experience that the fins does NOT regain the usual rich color, but usually get replaced by a less colorful and translucent patch. - Nov 6, 2000
