Getting the red-wash out

Dyna - Yes you can breed the red out. What you select for are those who show little to no red on the VENTRAL fins. That is the indicator as it is the most common area to see red on bettas. Once you select like this for a while you can find fish with no red anywhere, ventral, anal or caudal fins. Even if you take a flashlight and shine it through the back side of the fish to expose the red in between the fin rays that the darker colors may cover up. - Jan 20, 2001
