Internal Parasites |
Jungle Laboratories - The Jungle Pepso Food has an antibiotic that treats the bacteria infections that often accompany parasitic infestations. Pepso Food also cleans the fish's system helping to eliminate the larval stage of Internal Parasites. It is not designed to be used or supplemented for the fish's regular diet, but used when a fish is suffering from Internal Parasites or during quarantine to help prevent further spreading from Internal Parasites. When using antibiotics you want to treat only when necessary. Over use or misuse of antibiotics can cause diseases to become resistant and become very difficult to treat. - Dec 29, 2000
Stephanie - Jugle's website (see link) says "Pepso Food® Clears Intestinal Parasites Special formulation designed to be fed to tropical fish showing signs of internal parasites such as weight loss or loss of appetite. Great for new fish to ensure digestive tracts are free of parasites. It also says to use in conjuction with Internal parasite guard which I have but haven't used yet. Internal Parasite guard is a crystal that you dissolve into the water. I originally got the pepso food because it is high in vitamin E and B-12 and other vitamins and ruffage. Like I said before I used it with my fish that had a bad case of dropsey (pinecone looking) along with epsom salts and he recovered fairly quickly. - Dec 29, 2000 link
Stephanie - There is an Anti-Parasite food called Pepso Food and it is made by Jungle. It looks just like betta bites and I haven't ever had a fish not eat it. I feed it to every fish that comes into my house for 3 days and to all the fish about once a month as a preventative. I also use pepso in conjuction with epsom salts for dropsey. Haven't lost a fishy yet (knock on wood). - Dec 28, 2000
Donna - If the poop is white and stringy, it could be intestinal parasites and you might ask your LFS owner for a suggested remedy. - Dec 28, 2000
