Updates: New Betta Books - Just Released!

My red male betta is kind of sick nowadays, it will not eat the worms that i give it ....it always stays at a corner of the tank and only coming up to the surface for air ... WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT ??? HOW DO I TREAT IT ?????

- I had set up a spawning tank and nothing happened so I removed my female and left the male in the tank. When I returned home from work I noticed that he was doing the same thing only he would go to the corner where the heater was and just stay behind it. He would never eat and moved only when he went to the surface for air. He even stopped going to the nest to work on it. I looked at him closer and noticed a few dots around his mouth and gill area. I removed him to his bowl (vase) that I throughly rinsed with clean water, including all stones in the bottom and put fresh water in, I then added water treatment and aquarium salt, I'd say about 1 tsp. and put him in it. Within about 15 to 20 minutes he was swimming and the dots seemed to disappear. The next morning he was back to his normal self and flaring at his girlfriend next door. Hope this helps and good luck. - Oct 26, 2001
